Network | NIC | Update

In this section, you’ll learn how to change the configuration settings of a NIC.

Global Networking NIC Settings

The following are the Global Settings to change the configuration of NIC.

Skudonet network nic update configuration

Name. The system name of the physical interface. This is not editable.
IP Address. The network-layer IP address of the NIC. It supports IPv4 and IPv6. This field is mandatory and the Netmask field must be also set if DHCP is disabled.
Netmask/CIDR. The subnet mask of the NIC. It supports Network mask format or CIDR (0 to 32 bits) when using IPv4 or only CIDR format (0 to 128 bits) when using IPv6. This field is mandatory and the Address field must be also set if DHCP is disabled.
Gateway. Default gateway in IPv4/IPv6 format used by the NIC.
MAC. The link-layer MAC address that is assigned to the NIC by its vendor. This is not editable.
Alias. Interface alias identifies the interface with an alias that can be easily accessed when configuring a farm or any other service.
DHCP. Enable or disable the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) for the NIC. If enabled, it won’t allow the static IP address that is configured and will require a DHCP server that is running and reachable.

IPv4 and IPv6 stacks are supported, taking into account that the Netmask and Gateway must be configured in the same stack as the IP. Once all the required changes are done, press the Apply button to apply the new changes.
