Unfortunately, there is no libexec folder under the path you mentioned, only "cherokee, letsencryptz, nftlb, pound, zenrrd". It feels like some pre-configured checks don't execute at all, which in turn explains why the backends are detected as down.
I have resorted to copying the check_ping Farmguardian and being more lenient with the check (only need 50% of the pings to respond back to mark the backend as online). Still looking good after a 2h session on the clients.
Sorry, my bad, I did mention to the Enterprise Path, please refer to the path /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/
Thanks!
Hi Emilio,
no problem, happens 🙂 I have resorted to make a custom check using the pre-installed Nagios Components, specifically the check_icmp one. After almost 3h, it looks good and doing some tests with the command, it seems to have a high threshold before it reports back that the connection is critical. I will try and figure out how to perhaps get the check_udp Farmguardians to work or make my own based on them.
I highly appreciate the time and effort you invested in helping me figuring this out and this reflects positively on you, your product and company! I'll surely mention SKUDONET in discussions looking for a free or commercial load balancer as an option. Thank you very much!
We can close this thread, unless you have something for me to test out. If I get check_udp working reliably, I'll either edit a post here or perhaps contact you.
Best wishes!
Bob
